House Rules

Other Details to Note

The house is a one bedroom house. We availed the option of having an extra pull out double mattress from under the bed if you want to share the experience with extra friends, however the house has been designed to accomodate couples and the living space might be a little narrow at 3 or 4. The house gets bright in the morning. If you are not a sunrise lover or early bird, a sleeping mask is advised. We are blessed to not have more moskitos in this area compared to the rest of the island, however, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, they show up with the sunset like every where else. We recommend to have a fan nearby to keep them away, the moskito coils (that are provided), or the use of a lotion. Being in the middle of wildlife, you may encounter jungle sounds at night, and get the visit of some friendly bugs and small insects if the doors are left opened. Our water source is near the river, and therefore can get slightly salty, depending on the tides and rainfalls (it is difficult to predict!). It is usually just barely noticeable, but we provide a big bucket of fresh water in the shower to rinse yourself just in case.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

The village of Santa Cruz is a fisherman village known for the kindness of its people. There are a few (but very good !) restaurants in Santa Fe, the nearby village and the rest are in General Luna Area. Santa Fe is famous for its unique empty beaches and its uncrowded surf spots (& sometimes Kitesurf) . Our local friends are excellent surf instructors, and will be available for you if you're craving for surf lessons, at the beach a few minutes away from the property.

Guest Access

Travelers will have full and exclusive access to their private house, with small surrounding garden and a direct private pathway to the river. The big flying net, kitchen & bathroom are all private. The little bridge and small river house down are shared with our twin house that is also offered on airbnb in case you travel in bigger groups.

We stayed three nights at Villa Hideaway and absolutely loved this magical place. Just a 5-minute scooter ride from Santa Fe, you find yourself right in the middle of the jungle with breathtaking views of the river. The atmosphere is dreamy, and the natural soundscape is incredible. At night, fireflies light up the trees and the river literally glows – it’s pure magic. You can also explore the river on a bamboo raft, and the nearby Cold Springs are worth a visit too. The hosts even arranged a scooter for us, making everything super easy and comfortable. For anyone leaving negative comments – please keep in mind that this is the Philippines, and you shouldn’t expect strict European standards. For us, it was authentic, peaceful, and simply beautiful. A truly unique stay!

One of a kind stay in Siargao… it has so much character hahah everything was thought of well… ofc the river views were unbeatable… also, they had a raft that you could paddle on to explore the estuary and mangrove area (tip: it’s easier to swim and pull the raft hahaha we tried paddling and it took forever… it’s still good to have the raft tho so you could bring your stuff and have a dry place to take pics from) One weird thing tho was there was no rice cooker but that shouldn’t be a problem for us Asians (right? 👀 haha) … There was hot water available in the shower… drinking water… enough kitchen supplies… they even have a small solar powered battery and flashlights in case a brownout happened… Overall, with the amenities and privacy and peace you get… it’s a 5/5! It was somewhere you could realllyy truly relax in 🌻✨

Our second stay at this spot, and it still blew us away. It’s somehow even more beautiful than the photos—perched right on a river, surrounded by lush jungle, with the kind of scenery that makes you slow down and just breathe it all in. The new addition of Starlink Wi-Fi was such a bonus, making it easy to stay connected while still feeling completely off the grid. It’s about 20 minutes from town, which makes it the perfect balance—close enough for restaurants and shops, yet far enough to feel like your own private retreat. Peaceful, comfortable, and full of little touches that make it feel like home. Truly the best spot.

Find us

It is recommended for our guests to have a motorbike or scooter to reach the house, since it is a little far from the restaurants and stores. If you don't feel comfortable in riding motorbikes, it is also possible to hire the services of a tricycle driver. From the airport, there are always vans that can drop you in front of the house, for 400 php / pax. If you need scooter rentals, please let us know in advance so we can arrange it :)
